The IFLA Serials and Other Continuing Resources Section (SCORE) and the IFLA Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group (AI SIG), together with Yonsei University’s Research Institute for Academic Library Development (RIALD) as the hosting institution, cordially invite to participate in our satellite meeting, “Library and Information Professionals Supporting Research Integrity in the Age of AI”, to be held at Yonsei University in Seoul, in advance of the IFLA WLIC in Busan, South Korea.


When: 07 - 08 August 2026

Where: Room #401 (4th floor), Widang Hall, Yonsei University, 50 Yonsei Road, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, 03722, Republic of Korea

Cost: Free (Lunch and snacks will be provided by Yonsei University’s Research Institute for Academic Library Development (RIALD)

Language: The language of the satellite meeting is English. AI supported translation and interpreting software across multiple languages, including Korean and English, will be made available by RIALD, the satellite host.

Day 1: Friday, 7 August 2026

08:30–09:00 Arrival and registration.

09:00–09:30 Opening

09:30–10:00 Institutional Welcome

10:00–11:05 The State of Research and Scholarly Publishing: How have libraries played a role in ensuring research integrity?

11:05-11:25 Break

11:25–12:30 The Impact of Artificial Intelligence: How is AI reshaping scholarship? Is AI the problem, or is it merely accelerating existing problems?

12:30–13:30 Lunch (generously sponsored by RIALD).

13:30–15:15 The Role of Libraries: What can libraries do?

15:15–15:30 Day recap, and introduction to Day 2

15:30–17:30 Guided campus tour, including visits to Yonsei University Library and Yonsei University Museum, followed by informal networking.


Day 2: Saturday, 8 August 2026

09:00–12:00 Taking the Agenda Forward: What do libraries need to act?

Translating discussion into action requires resources, coordination, and shared frameworks. This session will develop a draft collective statement, to be taken to the WLIC in Busan for wider consultation before submitting it to IFLA Governing Board for endorsement, to guide the global library community.

It will also consider including:

- A consolidated resource mapping the current landscape

- Open educational resources (OERs) and training to support librarians in advising and training researchers

- Recommendations for integrating these issues into LIS school curricula

12:00–12:30 Next steps and closure

12:30–13:30 Lunch (generously sponsored by RIALD).

13:45–14:15 Transfer by taxi from RIALD to Seoul Metropolitan Library, 110 Sejong-daero (Taepyeongno 1-ga), Jung-gu, Seoul

14:30–16:00 Guided tour to Seoul Metropolitan Library.
